Special Election for president of the Associated Students of Laney College (ASLC) is taking place on Oct. 28-29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Center. The application-filing period ends Sept. 16.

To be eligible for the election, a student must be enrolled at Laney College in a minimum of five semester units at the time of the election as well as meet and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.

Parking tickets equal better grade

Peralta Community College District students may be able to save $230 per semester on bus fare thanks to the AC Transit EasyPass Program, a pilot program that is starting this fall.

Sixty-three years after the U.S. dropped the world's first atomic bomb, a crowd of 21 SJSU students stood in silence in front of the historical Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima, Japan, on June 20.

On a trip to explore the Japanese culture, participants of the SJSU faculty-led study abroad program arrived in Japan on May 30 where they would live for four weeks in Uji City, a city on the southern outskirts of Kyoto.

Andy Ghiggeri said he showed up just before the gates of Spartan Stadium opened at 11:30 a.m. to set up. The game did not start until 5 p.m.

Ghiggeri, a former Spartan Foundation president, has attended over 300 Spartan games in a row, both home and away, and said his fellow tailgating crew of over 100 people host the best food and bar in the lot.
